Opencart “Free Shipping” extended with Weight Limit

So I have been working on some Opencart Extensions for Free Shipping with weight limit that works in conjunction with Weight Based Shipping, For example orders over 150CHF but with a free shipping limit of 5KG.

Any weight over 5KG needs to be charged, so my extension takes into account the amount of free shipping weight from the GUI and charges the difference to the customer.

The extension can be found here and an older version here

SSL Baby!

Finally got around to securing the site and forcing SSL!, for those of you interested in free 1 year Class 1 SSL certificates check out StartSSL… (i know I’m currently using one from Comodo which offers Free Class 1 Certificated for 3 months….)

They also have very cheap Verified (Class 2 / 3) and Extended Validation certificates… they are the cheapest i was able to find!

Check them out on Wikipedia

Trustedness

The StartSSL certificate is included by default in Mozilla Firefox 2.x and higher, in Apple Mac OS X since version 10.5 (Leopard), all Microsoft operating systems since 24 September 2009,[5][6] and Opera since 27 July 2010. Since Google ChromeApple Safari and the Internet Explorer use the certificate store of the operating system, all major browsers include support for StartSSL certificates.

HomeZone / Cinema Update 6 – Web App Control

Sorry to ask! but it would be great if you found any of the content on my page useful to check out some of the ads to support my hosting!

So I finally got around to working on my app to control my Cinema, Lights, etc…

I used the examples in Sencha Touch to build this page / app, I am currently running it on an xampp install on my desktop (code and details below). This is the first version… so lots of it is hard coded and its using HTTP GET with the Arduino, in the future I expect to migrate everything to the Arduino / RaspberryPi MQTT… Just not had the time recently due to some personal stuff.

Below are some screenshot of the webpage in Chrome on my Galaxy S2

So check out HZ\app\view\Main.js in the webpage source below… and you can modify the buttom names and the HTTP GET Commands that point to the Arduino (Arduino Code Below)

Below is screenshot of the code with some colour grouping.

The arduino is an EtherTen From Freetronics with some IR LED’s and a 315MHZ Link kit… I am using the RCSwitch / IRremote below is a photo of what it looks like but feel free to check out the older post / schematics.

Code: HZ Webpage, Arduino

If you want more info on how all this fits together… please leave a comment and I will update the post, I suggest you look at some of my other posts as most of the details are in older updates / code / posts.

Home Cinema update 5

So I am writing this from my phone… hopefully it doesn’t look to crap!

The HDMI extender finally arrived last week after almost 6 weeks… its great, very small and does the job as expected.

I got 5 minutes to try the PS3 with GTA and it’s freaking sweet!

Even my kids love it!

Home Cinema part 4 – custom controls.

I have not had a chance to build my screen yet, so for the moment I am just using the wall… I have to say I am really happy with my custom mount :) … I did some cable management and now I am just waiting for my HDMI extender to arrive from www.goodluckbuy.com which will hook up my Projector to my Onkyo AMP, dreambox, PS3, xbox 360 and Wii etc..

So while waiting for the HDMI extender to arrive I started working on a solution to switch everything on and off from my phone… so I got to work on extending my Arduino DomoticHome Transmitter to include Infra Red support.

I pulled apart an old IR helicopter and salvaged the IR LEDS and the IR receiver, I then hooked this up to my Arduino and used the IRremote library to capture and retransmit the signals from my remotes with DomoticHome using my Samsung Galaxy S2. The 315HMZ transmiter is from the previous project but here is the link if you are interested.

Here is the updated code, Schematics and a video of it in action

Home Cinema Setup Part 1

So I finally got around to doing something…! Hard to find time between work, wife and kids!

So after selling my old place, going on holidays… we moved into an apartment with 2 levels… one of these levels had a 4m by 2m wall perfect for a home cinema!

After spending a few months looking around I set my eyes on the Panasonic AT6000… I was waiting for it to arrive in Switzerland and then I remembered that I hate 3D movies… so I looked around and got myself the BenQ W1200 1080P projector… value for money!

…. buying a roof mount for 200CHF wasn’t such a good idea, so I built myself a roof mount and only spent about 20chf! Here are some pics of the mount and materials… I will hang it tomorrow from the ceiling and update on my progress with cabling etc… in the next few days!
